Introduction
How do I work?
I like to work in an integrative, person-centred way. This means that I don’t approach your situation with pre-set ideas but prefer to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which we can explore together what is going on in your life. Through this a better understanding of that situation may emerge that will enable you to deal better with problems as they arise.
My work tends to focus on relationships. It seeks to help you to discover more about your own relationships and ways in which adopting a different approach to them can help you to live a less restricted and more fulfilled life.
Our work together will focus on ways of being able to confront, accept and deal with these issues should this be what you need to do.
Our work together centres on you and your needs. It does not focus on any idea of mine. It is my job to respond to what you want to get out of the counselling. From time to time I may challenge things you say but generally in order for us both to understand better what is going on in your life.
How often do we meet?
Typically, sessions are weekly and last for 50 minutes.
