Psychotherapy in London - John Colverson

Introduction
Seeking counselling or psychotherapy can seem a daunting process. It involves a journeying into your own personal depths which might feel frightening.
My approach is both human and professional. I offer a combination of respect, confidentiality, skill, and knowledge. I am an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist, and I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 1996. I also have over fourteen years experience of working in the mental health field, consequently I have a wealth of experience to offer through my work in hospitals (private and NHS), therapeutic communities, and homeless hostels.
I specialise in working with eating disorders, psychosomatic disorders, and abuse issues. However, I am also experienced in treating a broad spectrum of other psychological complaints, and you may be able to identify one or more symptoms from the list below. Equally you may not be able to identify what your problems are, but rather have a vague feeling of being blocked and that your life is limited, stunted in some way. Perhaps you feel locked into repeating patterns of behaviour.
I can offer short term goal focused psychotherapy to work on specific issues, and longer term explorative psychotherapy to work on deeper, more entrenched issues, and personal development at depth. Explorative psychotherapy might require more than one session a week.
I am a Professional member of the Association of Group and Individual Psychotherapy, and I abide by the code of ethics of both the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I practice in central London with consultation rooms near Kings Cross and the City.
